01The agreement

These terms are between you and SmartSudio (“we”) and cover your use of PDF Vault. By installing or using the app you accept them. If you got the app from a store, that store’s own terms apply as well.

02What you may do

We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to install and use PDF Vault on devices you own or control, for lawful purposes. You may not resell the app, remove its notices, or use it to break the law.

03The free version and Pro

The free version includes the scanner, the conversion and page tools, signing, printing, the browser and a vault for up to 20 files, and shows ads. Pro removes the ads and unlocks text recognition (OCR), compressing to a chosen size and an unlimited vault.

• Yearly subscription. Billed once a year through your store account. Where the store offers it, a first-time subscriber gets a 3-day free trial; if it is not cancelled before the trial ends, the subscription starts and the yearly price is charged.
• Renewal. The subscription renews automatically each year at the price shown in the store, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Cancelling. Cancel at any time in your store’s subscription settings. Pro stays active until the end of the period already paid for; deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
• Lifetime. A one-time purchase with no renewal.
• Refunds. Purchases are made with the store, and refunds follow that store’s policy and are requested from it.

Prices are the ones the store shows you at the time of purchase and may differ by country. A purchase can be restored on another device signed in to the same store account.

04Your content is your responsibility

PDF Vault is a tool. What you scan, convert, browse, download and keep with it is chosen by you alone, and we have no way to see it.

• Keep only content you have the right to keep. Copyright and the terms of the websites you visit still apply to you.
• A signature placed with the app is a picture of your handwriting on the page. Whether that is enough for a given document is for you and the other party to decide; it is not a certified digital signature.
• Do not use the app to store or obtain anything that is illegal where you live.

05We cannot recover your vault

The vault is protected by keys that only your devices hold. We keep no copy. If you lose your PIN, every recovery option on the device and your recovery code, its contents cannot be opened again, by you or by us. Keep the recovery code somewhere safe, and keep a backup.

06Results of the tools

Scanning, text recognition, compression and conversion do their best with what they are given and are not guaranteed to be exact: recognised text can contain mistakes, and a converted Word or PowerPoint file may not match the original layout in every detail. Check a result before you rely on it or send it on.

07No warranty

PDF Vault is provided as it is. We work to make it reliable and safe, but we do not promise that it is free of defects or fit for a particular purpose. Rights the law gives you that cannot be excluded are not affected.

08Limit of liability

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for lost data, lost profit, or indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim.

09Changes and contact

We may update the app and these terms. The current terms are always on this page, with their date. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.
