Privacy policy

01The short version

SmartVault does not collect, transmit or sell your personal data. There is no account, we run no server that receives your content, and the app contains no advertising, analytics, crash-reporting or attribution code.

Everything you put in SmartVault is encrypted and stored on your own device. We cannot see it, and we cannot recover it for you.

02What stays on your device

• The photos, videos, audio, documents and files you import or save, and their thumbnails.
• Album names, file names, bookmarks, and the addresses items were saved from.
• Your settings, and the keys that protect the library. Keys are kept in the system’s secure key storage.

This data is encrypted at rest. It leaves the device only when you export, back up or sync it yourself, as described below.

03The built-in browser

When you open a website in SmartVault, your device connects to that website directly, as it would from any browser. The site receives what browsers send, such as your IP address and any cookies it has set. Those sites are not ours, and their own privacy policies apply.

We do not see which sites you visit. Browsing history, cookies and cached pages stay on your device; you can clear them in Settings, and have them cleared each time the app locks.

04Permissions the app asks for

• Photos and media: to import the items you pick into the library, and to export items back when you ask.
• Camera: only to scan the pairing code shown by another of your devices.
• Local network: only to find and sync with your own devices on the same Wi‑Fi.
• Face ID, fingerprint or device passcode: to unlock the library. The check is done by the system; the app never receives your biometric data.
• Internet: for the built-in browser and the saves you start from it.

SmartVault does not ask for your location, contacts, microphone or advertising identifier. Location details embedded in photos are read only to remove them on import.

05Backup and sync

A backup is written to the folder you choose and contains ciphertext only. If that folder is synced by a cloud service you use, that service’s policy applies to the encrypted files it stores.

Sync happens directly between your own devices over your local network, through an encrypted channel. It does not pass through any server of ours, because there is none.

06Purchases

If you buy a subscription or a one-time upgrade, the purchase is handled by the store you bought it from (Apple, Google or Microsoft). We do not receive your name, payment details or billing address.

07When you contact us

If you e-mail us or send feedback through this website, we receive what you choose to send: your message, and your e-mail address if you give one. We use it to answer you and to improve the product, and we do not share it. Ask us at devgame11@gmail.com and we will delete it.

Please never send us your PIN, your recovery code, or private files.

08Children

SmartVault includes an unrestricted web browser and is not intended for children or for anyone under 17.

09This website

This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics and loads nothing from third parties. It is hosted on GitHub Pages; like any web host, GitHub may log technical data such as IP addresses, under its own privacy statement.

10Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date.
