Privacy policy

Ordinary browsing, online content and a local encrypted vault have different data boundaries.

Updated 2026-10-15

01Who provides SmartBrowser

SmartBrowser is provided under the SmartSudio brand. This policy covers the Android app, its content-feed and report services, and these SmartBrowser website pages. Privacy questions and requests: devgame11@gmail.com.

SmartBrowser combines ordinary web browsing, online news and embedded short videos with a separate, locally encrypted file vault. It is not a VPN or an anonymous-browsing service.

02Local browsing data and vault files

Tabs, bookmarks, shortcuts, browsing history, cookies, download records, settings, on-device likes, hidden-channel preferences and playback progress are stored on your device. Ordinary browsing records and files saved outside the vault are not protected by the vault’s file encryption.

Files you choose to place in the vault and their vault thumbnails are encrypted locally. PIN verification and recovery-key handling take place on your device. We do not receive a copy of your vault keys through the feed or reporting services. Exports and backups you create are separate copies that you control.

03Websites, searches and optional suggestions

Opening a website or submitting a search connects to the chosen website or search provider. They receive normal browser connection information, such as IP address, requested address or search query, browser details, cookies and any data you enter. Their policies apply.

If you enable online search suggestions, eligible text you type is sent to DuckDuckGo’s suggestion service before you submit a search. You can disable suggestions in the app’s search settings. The chosen search engine still receives a query when you submit it.

04News, trends and the SmartBrowser feed service

The app requests regional news, short-video references, player pages and trend lists from feed.smartsudio.com, a SmartSudio service hosted on Cloudflare Workers with cached feed data in KV. News comes from publishers’ public feeds; videos are referenced to their original providers. Opening articles or loading thumbnails and players can contact those providers directly.

The service receives the requested route and region/language selection, along with IP address and ordinary HTTP connection metadata. We use these connections to deliver content, operate the service and prevent abuse. We do not submit your vault files, PIN, recovery code, likes or viewing history to the feed endpoint as a personalised profile. Cloudflare may process technical and security data under its own policy: Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

05YouTube and other third-party players

Some short videos use YouTube’s embedded player. Loading or using the player connects to YouTube/Google, which may process connection information, player interactions, cookies or identifiers under its policies. A Google account already used in a web context may affect the provider’s own experience.

Use of YouTube content is subject to YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. SmartBrowser is independent and is not endorsed by Google or YouTube. It does not currently offer YouTube video downloads, and a video can remain unavailable when its owner or provider restricts playback.

06Reports you choose to send

The in-app report action sends the selected content ID, content URL, source/channel reference, reason and optional explanatory text to SmartSudio’s private moderation queue. A random report ID, timestamp and pending status are added. Do not put your PIN, recovery code or private files in report text.

Reports are stored in Cloudflare KV with an automatic expiry of 90 days from submission, and may be deleted earlier. The report record does not contain the submitting IP address. The edge service temporarily uses the connection IP as a rate-limit key, and hosting/security services may separately process technical connection data.

A received report is a request for SmartSudio to review its feed. It is not a report sent to YouTube, does not create a public vote and does not guarantee removal. For a request about a stored report, contact us with its report ID and approximate submission date.

07Advertising and privacy choices

The free version uses Google AdMob. The app requests non-personalised ads, but this does not mean that no data is processed. Google’s SDK may collect and share IP address, device/account identifiers, ad or app interactions and diagnostic information to deliver ads, measure performance and prevent fraud. These data are handled under Google’s policies; see Google Mobile Ads data disclosure and the Google Privacy Policy.

Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) checks the privacy choices required for your region. SmartBrowser gates its own ad requests using the SDK’s canRequestAds result; where a privacy-options entry is required, it is available in Settings. UMP can communicate with Google to update or present those choices. Non-personalised ads and consent choices do not turn off third-party websites’ or embedded players’ own data processing.

While an active Pro entitlement is recognised, SmartBrowser stops loading its own ads. This does not remove ads or cookies controlled by a website or embedded player. We do not add vault files, file names, PINs or recovery codes to ad requests.

08Purchases

Google Play handles checkout and billing. The app receives product, purchase, transaction/token and entitlement information needed to recognise Pro, process store updates and restore purchases. It does not receive your full payment-card details. Google processes account and payment data under its policies.

Prices, renewal periods and eligible trial offers are shown by the store before you buy. A trial is not guaranteed for every user. See the SmartBrowser terms for the approved plan structure and Google Play subscription help for subscription management.

09Camera, voice and device permissions

  • Camera access is used when you choose to scan a QR code. A code’s decoded text is placed in the search field for you to review; opening it then contacts the selected destination.
  • Voice search launches the Android/system speech-recognition service. That provider may process audio on its servers according to its settings and policy. SmartBrowser receives recognised text, not a feed-service audio recording.
  • System file pickers and export destinations handle files you select. Biometric unlocking, when enabled and available, is checked by the operating system; the app does not receive fingerprint or face templates.
  • Optional pairing/sync uses your local network. The app does not provide cloud vault synchronisation. You control any backup copies or local transfers you initiate.

10Diagnostics and support messages

The in-app diagnostics screen shows session counters for playback, frame timing and ads. This app-level screen is local and is not an automatic crash-report upload service; Google’s advertising SDK can still process its own diagnostic data as explained above.

If you email support or choose to send website feedback, we receive your message and any address, device details or attachments you include. We use them to answer your request, investigate issues and maintain the service. Do not include vault secrets. Ask us to delete support correspondence when it is no longer needed; store and mail-provider retention may also apply.

11Retention, deletion and your choices

Clear browsing data using the app’s controls, delete local content and preferences in their relevant screens, or uninstall to remove app-private data according to Android’s storage behaviour. Files exported to shared storage, backups and website/provider records must be handled separately. Uninstalling does not cancel a subscription.

Report records expire after 90 days. Cached public feed content is refreshed separately and is not a copy of your private vault. We do not set a universal retention period for Google, Cloudflare, websites or stores; their policies apply.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion or other handling of personal data, withdraw consent, object to processing or complain to a relevant authority. Contact devgame11@gmail.com for data SmartSudio handles. We may need enough information to locate the relevant report or correspondence; anonymous reports cannot reliably be linked to a person without a reference. Use provider controls for data they handle independently.

12Security, hosting and international processing

Vault encryption protects files placed in the vault, not every website connection or external copy. Online services use HTTPS endpoints where configured; a site you choose to visit can have different security properties. Keep your device, PIN and recovery information secure. No system can guarantee absolute security.

Cloudflare, Google, GitHub Pages and other providers may process data in countries other than your own under their applicable policies and safeguards. This static website loads its own assets without analytics or advertising scripts; its host can still receive IP addresses and other technical request information. See GitHub Privacy Statement.

13Children, changes and contact

SmartBrowser is a general-purpose web browser, not a service designed for young children. Websites and third-party feeds can contain content unsuitable for minors; parents and guardians should supervise use and consider the store’s age rating. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us.
